COMPUTER ASSISTANT Duties

As a COMPUTER ASSISTANT (TITLE 32), GS-0335-9, you will manage and maintain the Aviation Logistics Enterprise-Platform (ALE-P) at AASF and provide guidance to users in the day-to-day operation and maintenance of the Aviation Logistics Enterprise. -Platform (ALE-P) and serves as a liaison between the AASF and external support organizations (eg Combat Service Support Automation Management Office AVCRAD, National Guard).

Main Responsibilities – This is not an exhaustive list:

Monitor database files from external sources (eg, inspection master files, component master files, and reportable item files) to ensure data integrity and usability
Recover deleted data files as needed and utilize Standing Operating Procedures (SOPs) in the event of Aviation Logistics Enterprise-Platform (ALE-P) failure
Create database queries to access local information stored on the Aviation Logistics Enterprise Platform (ALE-P)
Assign, secure, store, and manage user IDs, and passwords and control individual and group access to the Aviation Logistics Enterprise Platform (ALE-P)
Fix common or recurring problems encountered by laptop users
Assist AASF users in preparing locally drafted reports
Prioritize work and necessary fixes to keep operating systems running properly
Train or work with staff on Aviation Logistics Enterprise-Platform (ALE-P) changes and procedures.
Ensure that data and data files are accurately entered into the system via the local area network (LAN)
Provide advice and recommendations for the use and protection of Aviation Logistics Enterprise-Platform (ALE-P) data and resources against unauthorized disclosure, modification, access, use, destruction or denial of service computer ASSISTANT
Maintain and update unit parameters and aircraft/weapon systems authorization files to ensure the availability of calculated readiness rates
Make local modifications to the STAMIS system; adjustments are made within and between systems to ensure data communication between test platforms and the STAMIS system
Work with multiple operating systems with instructions that are not always specific or may not exist
Monitor data transfer between aircraft laptops and LAN computers to ensure data integrity is maintained; monitor data backup systems
Ensure timely and accurate exchange of maintenance, supply, and operational data between individual aircraft laptops and the local area network (LAN).

Computer Assistant Required

This is an exceptional service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the National Guard of the employing nation, required prior to the effective date of the placement.

Applicants who are not currently members of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate National Guard membership and employment in the military grade specified in this notice.
Males born after December 31, 1959, must be registered for selective service.

Successful completion of a probationary period may be required.

This position is subject to the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30-Sep-96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying domestic violence offense may not perform the duties of this position.
Sometimes he may be required to work outside normal working hours; overtime may be required.

Qualifications

AREA OF CONSIDERATIONS: Areas of consideration for this position, Title 32 Excepted Service (32 U.S. Code § 709), will be in the following manner and order:

The FIRST area of ​​consideration for this position will be all but permanent and indefinite temporary technicians within ILNG.
